Prana Navina Yoga is a registered Yoga School recognised and accepted by the International Independent Yoga Network to provide 200 hours, 500 hours Yoga Teacher Training Certificates and Professional Development Training for exsisting Yoga Teachers. These transformative teacher training programmes enables you to obtain an accreditation to register with the International Independent Yoga Network to teach yoga anywhere in the world.
The Prana Navina Yoga Teacher Training takes place during an intensive residential stay at super chilled and relaxing rural retreat venue ‘The Happy Hamlet’ in the beautiful countryside of the South of France, and online with self study modules to complete in the comfort of your own home, either before or after the Retreat. Ensuring that you are fully prepared to successfully teach Yoga anywhere in the world.

Although this course is intensive and requires commitment and dedication, it is not a boot camp. We believe that learning and gaining knowledge should be an pleasurable experience. The environment should lift you, the food should nourish you and the teaching should inspire you….including a good nights refreshing sleep, a relax or study by the pool and a cleanse and detox in the amazing barrel sauna surrounded by nature.

The 200 hours teacher training intensive consists of 12 modules, all of which must be satisfactorily completed before the certification is given to enable you to successfully teach yoga anywhere in the world. The following is brief breakdown of what you will study. But we expect you to have an extremely enjoyable experience with support on every step of your journey.
Yoga teaching is not just for the super flexible, life experiences and past injuries bring us great learning tools that we can use to help others on their yoga path.
Module 1: Anatomy and Physiology:
A full and comprehensive course covering everything from connective tissue and muscular system to the anatomy of energetics with the breath and bandha
Module 2: The History of Yoga:
Here we cover the theories behind the roots of Yoga and Patanjali, how Yoga come to the West and what brings people to Yoga. We also look at the concept of working spiritually as part of a cooperative group and our ego driving modern society. We also discuss the impact of the Yoga Sutras on Yoga and its development and the connection with Yoga and religion.
Module 3: Different Styles of Yoga:
Here we look deeper at the differences between the different styles available to us now and ask such questions as….
How would you explain to your students why there are so many different styles of yoga available?
Many students are confused by the different styles. Is it important that they understand the differences?
Module 4: The Eightfold path:
In this section we start looking deeper at what the true meaning of Yoga is and the ‘Journey’ of Yoga. We look at our individual relationship with the practice of Yoga and how that has developed and how it can develop. We discover that the art of yoga is to re-connect the mind body and spirit, and learn how to teach this to our students, and how we show this in our practice. We dive into the concept of Enlightenment and the journey towards this.

Module 6: The Niyamas:
Assignment 1: Saucha

Module 7: Sequencing and Postures:
There is a two hour Vinyasa Flow Practice every morning, where we start looking in great detail the art of sequencing and how we target postures, themes or energy through the sequence. We learn how to create vibrant sequences that seamlessly flow from posture to posture. Students start teaching from day one, building their confidence and skills in a safe supportive environment. Throughout this process you are given a lot of support, feedback and encouragement to give you the tools to become a great teacher.We also look at Yin Yoga postures and the role of Restorative Yoga in a class environment.
Module 8: Alignment and Adjustments:
Safe alignment is vital for the well being of our students, so we look in detail at each individual asana and how we can adjust the asana for different levels of student. Looking at contra indications to create safe teaching practices. We also look in detail at the importance of props in our practice. How they can enhance our students experience.
Module 9: Pranayama: 5 hours contact time
Here we cover different types of Pranayama that are suitable to include in a class setting. The science behind the practice and the benefits of developing breath awareness and control. We also give you the tools and confidence to teach it to your students.
Module 10: Meditation:
￼Here we learn the various types of meditation and learn how to teach it as part of a class or as separate workshops. We practice daily to also develop our own practice and fully understand the science and benefits behind the role of regular meditation.
Module 11: The Role of the Yoga Teacher:
Here we look at the different roles and demands of the yoga teacher in the West. How you can develop your teaching career and the different options open to us. How to go about finding work as a Yoga Teacher and how to market yourself.
Module 12: Professional Development and Marketing:
The structure of this final module will depend on the goals of the student and therefore tailored to them.
You will also learn about a traditional Yogic Diet, as well as eating a well-balanced and nutritious “sattvic” diet yourself. We pride ourselves in the quality and deliciousness of the organic meals we provide on this course, because your body does not ask much from you, but healthy nutritious food is one of them.

Tandy is the lead instructor and is a registered yoga elder, which is the highest level of yoga instructor with the Independent Yoga Network, awarded through extensive training and experience. She has taught yoga internationally for many years and has now settled in the beautiful South West of France. She offers yoga teacher training courses and yoga and self-development retreats.

YOUR HOME FOR THE STAY
You will stay in the Guest House of the Happy Hamlet, which centuries ago was home for several families and now has been turned into a place for feeling good. The charming rooms (double or twin) have each an ensuite bathroom with a window. The house has been renovated by preserving as much of the old as possible, yet keeping the comfort in mind. Many recycled treasures have been given new life allowing them to tell you their stories from the past.
The huge barn will be your lounge, salon and kitchen whenever needed, and the vast property offers woods and prairies, fields and valleys for you to explore. You are welcome to enjoy the organic produce from the garden whenever feel like having a healthy snack. With the sessions and discussions, other activities and visits you will surely have plenty to do, to explore and to experience – but you will certainly have your free time, too. Nothing beats the hammock under the trees for good relaxation!
At night, once in bed, you’ll be guaranteed a good night’s sleep because the only background noise will be the owl informing that everything is.. just fine.
