Bienvenue in southwestern France.
THE HAPPY HAMLET IS
An old farm. Endless nature around. Centuries-old stone buildings.
A sauna in a barrel. A natural swimming pool.
Secret spots and special hideaways. Tranquil ambiance. Happy people.
Themed retreats. Inspiring instructors. Relaxing, refreshing - and fun.
Good food from the garden. Green around and green in mind.
Good for you.
Oh and you should also know that
THE HAPPY HAMLET ISN'T
A “typical” retreat center. A luxury anything. A trendy anything.
A standard anything. Anything that isn’t good for you.
The Happy stuff? Here's a few things that we think do the trick.
THE HAPPY STUFF (RETREATS)
Love what you do and do what you love. Be it yoga or pilates or other well-being, photography, painting, music or other art, cooking or wine tasting, personal or professional development. In The Happy Hamlet you will be able to engage in what makes you the happiest – in the guidance of talented & inspirational instructors. Learn more about the themes and the all-inclusive retreats.
What we don’t get fresh from our garden we pick up either from the local markets or from the nearby producers directly. The French cuisine at its best, in the region which is rich in the local produce: fruit, veggies, nuts, mushroom, egg farmers, livestock, and (of course) dairies. With all that yummy cheese one can’t get enough of it comes handy to be located in the middle of a dozen wine appellations. Bon appetit, indeed!
When it comes to attractions we will have a hard time to squeeze even the minimum of the “must see’s and do’s” in one stay. You’ll have your choice of culture in the form of various festivals and events, history in the cities and the medieval villages that still survey us from many hilltops, culinary treats from the markets and special tastings… and so much more that we think you’ll want to revisit. Discover more before you visit!
Sound like your kind of thing? Cool, continue to see what the Hamlet has to offer!
THE HAMLET (PROPERTY)
The Hamlet is surrounded by 13 ha of own land: prairies, woods, valleys and fields. We’re ‘in the middle of nowhere’ which is what makes it possible to concentrate on some of the best things in life; fresh air and beautiful nature. After retreat activities, dip in the natural swimming pool (no chlorite nor other chemicals!), relax in a hammock, or sweat it out in the sauna in a barrel. How does that sound for recharging?
Several centuries ago this hamlet was the home of five families. Today we have turned it into a home away from home for our guests. We worked with local only artisans to restore as much of old as possible, and we give new life by recycling – yet we always use new and modern when necessary for comfort. Come and see for yourself, these walls will surely have a story or two to whisper to you!
The mother nature is kind to us. The garden greets with veggies; tomatoes, onions, garlic, peppers, green beans, aubergines, courgettes, and herbs, just to name a few. Truffle and wild asparagus hide in our woods. Fruit trees with figues, nuts and almonds, apples, pears, peaches, plums and cherries here and there. All organic, of course. Hungry, anyone?
Still liking it? Good, we've got a little bit for everyone.
