What is Your Favorite Color?

The Guest House has five guest rooms with a capacity of 15 guests. Each room has its unique ambiance – and its own color. We won’t lie to you, it all comes down to the bathroom tiles we got way before the new walls were even built (or old demolished..). Have a look, they all have something to tell you!

The White Room (or Chambre #17)

Salut! I am the “oldest” of the rooms in the sense that I was the first one to get a new look and some fresh air when the Hamleters took over the property. My main color is white, but as you can see from the bathroom tiles, I am a big fan of turquoise, as well. There’s a huge old fireplace that was used back in the day for heating – today it serves as a decoration, and as a reminder of the good old days.

Pssst: I used to be a kitchen and my bathroom ceiling didn’t exist before, there were actually stairs that led up to the second floor!

The Blue Room (or Chambre #42)

Hello there! Whatever the shade, if blue is your color then I am definitely your best pick! From a super comfy armchair to the hand-made pillow cases (not to mention the moroccan cement tiles) and art that has traveled all the way from Moscow Russia, I have been marked by the color of blue skies that we get to enjoy so much at the Hamlet.

Pssst. My floor used to be dirt until the Hamleters gave it a fresh look – what a difference!

The Black Room (or Chambre #47)

Bonjour! I am the biggest and the boldest of the rooms. Perhaps that is why black is my color.. But don’t you worry, they’ve lightened my decor with soft colors and textures, and I am confident in saying that the ambiance is very warm. The local basket weaver tailor-made my huge lampshade, and the wooden bedside tables have come all the way from Djibouti where they served as containers in boats.

Pssst: My sister downstairs may already have told you, but my bathroom used to be a hole – without it the huge wardrobe that serves today in the barn would have been stuck forever in this house!

The Green Room (or Chambre #131)

Coucou! I am so happy about all the various tones of green, the color so dominant in the nature-filled Hamlet. My windows face three sides of the house, which allows me to enjoy the most beautiful natural light any time of the year. The porcelain bathroom set is a treasure found at one of the local brocantes – lucky me it was green!

Pssst: Some guests laugh that my bathroom is the size of their bedroom – but I like to call it a little luxury everyone deserves!

The Attic (or Chambre #256)

Bonjour! I am the baby of the family, because I was the last one to get a new look. It’s completely understandable, given my original shape and condition – after all, I was the attic, not a space for living. But I think they made a great job, I am especially happy about the bathroom floor which has been protected with a dozen of layer of boat wax! To compensate missing on the decorative tiles I have beautiful ornamental wallpaper. In turquoise, of course, because it is said to be the color for calming and refreshing (among many other things) – exactly the same that I want to be for you, too!

Pssst: I have the only rocking chair in the house – grab a book and join me for a relaxing swing!

  • On second floor (the attic)
  • Surface: 30 m2 (323 sq ft)
