Spring is in the Air

Fall in love with movement, mindfulness, and merry moments. The Happy Hamlet is the perfect
location for the Merry Wellness Retreat – this week is all about good vibes, letting go of what no
longer serves you, and welcoming all that your heart yearns for. We will delve into various styles
of yoga and pause to be present with ourselves and other wonderful humans. Your body, mind
and soul will thank you for taking this week to yourself!

Movement, Recovery & Nature

We will rise with the sun to energize and nourish the mind-body-soul with a dynamic yoga flow or an active mobility session. We will seal the practice with a different type of meditation every day.

Day time is devoted to me-time or we-time, as you can decide whether to join in on an adventure with the crew, relax in the Hamlet’s natural pool, take a nap or go for a jog. Maybe you would like to indulge in a glass of wine and read a book or take a moment to connect with the Hamlet family. Your instructor is also into acro yoga and would love to have a bit of laughing therapy in between group sessions. There is something for everyone – Just go with the flow!

In the evenings we will gather for a calming practice – varying from trigger yin and restorative yoga to face yoga and other evening rituals. You will certainly acquire new routines and practices to take home with you after the retreat <3

Other Activities

In between the classes and tasty meals you can steal a moment for yourself and your book, curl up in a hammock tucked away under the trees. If you wish to get more active physically, the surroundings are perfect for walks or jogging, and we need to add, that “the Hamlet Hike” around the property with Nicolas has been very popular – just don’t wear your high heels! You may dip into the natural pool (no chlorite nor other chemicals!) or no matter rain or shine, we’ll heat up the sauna for you to relax and enjoy the views.

Our program is based on a “go with the flow” mentality, this is your vacation, after all! You may participate in our little visits in the region – but it’s completely fine if you wish to stay “home” in the Hamlet. We’ll definitely do some wine-tasting at our friends’ vineyard and on departure day morning we’ll visit the nearby medieval village and pick up the freshest from its farmers’ market for a champagne brunch before the “au revoirs”. That is, “until we meet again” – because we think you might want to return..

Your Instructor Meri

I am active, energetic, and social, yet yoga brings out the mellow, caring, and calm in me. Yoga came to me during a stressful time in my life, and my practice still highlights the importance of recovery and stress relief, both mentally and physically. Along with yoga and personal training, I
have studied exercise science and Ayurveda which I continue to learn more of to understand holistic wellness and health.

I started teaching yoga to fellow students and teachers at my school campus in New Mexico in 2016. A few years after I completed my RYT200 training in Florida and have been teaching weekly classes ever since in Florida and Finland.

In addition to yoga, I am passionate about exercise and weightlifting, specifically. Along with teaching yoga I have worked as a coach, gym manager, and exercise counselor.

In classes, I find atmosphere, experience of flow, and the chance to turn inwards important. Therefore, the use of special tools, like aromatherapy, touch, breath, and different equipment is nothing unusual in my classes. Yoga is for everyone, and I want to create an environment where everyone feels welcome. Everyone should be encouraged to be their true, authentic self. That is how one can be truly happy and healthy and make the world a better place.

Your Home for the Stay

You will stay in the Guest House of The Happy Hamlet, which centuries ago was home for several families and now has been turned into a place for feeling good. The charming rooms (double, twin or triple) have each an ensuite bathroom with a window. The house has been renovated by preserving as much of the old as possible, yet keeping the comfort in mind. Many recycled treasures have been given new life allowing them to tell you their stories from the past.

The huge barn will be your lounge, salon and kitchen whenever you wish, and the vast property offers woods and prairies, fields and valleys for you to explore. With the practice, meals, discussions, other activities and visits you will surely have plenty to do, to explore and to experience. But you will certainly have your free time, too. Nothing beats the hammock under the trees for good relaxation!

At night, once in bed, you’ll be guaranteed a good night’s sleep because the only background noise will be the owl informing that everything is.. just fine.

See gallery for more photos of The Happy Hamlet property, the Guest House & rooms, the barn, the outdoors and more. Lovely feedback and reviews from our previous guests can be found on our testimonials page, on our Facebook, and also on Google Business and TripAdvisor .
